Windows 7 Migration Specialist

Windows 7 Migration Specialist (This is for Image Creation portion)

Windows 7 Migration Specialist will provide hands on expertise with Responsibilities to Provide subject matter expertise in strategic deployment planning. Work with existing IT team on compatibility and acceptable testing of different applications against their Windows 7 image and provide added value to help streamline their efforts. Create and manage deployment acceleration plans to identify key activities and enable the rapid deployment of operating systems and associated technologies. Provide hands-on technical assistance to help overcome deployment roadblocks. Provide oversight to customer-specific deployment activities ensuring project milestones are achieved.

Experience: Required Skills: Prior experiencing in deploying and driving OS implementations in large environments (2000+ PCs) Prior experience guiding organizations though Windows 7 migrations is required Experience with the following Microsoft technologies: Windows 7, BitLocker, SCCM, WDS Relevant industry certifications are highly desired
Windows 7 understanding; experience with SCCM OS deployment and SCCM Application delivery; Microsoft Deployment Technology (MDT); process development

Windows 7 Deployment Preparation
Creation of Windows 7 Images and Lite Touch Deployment process.
Will be a Desktop support IT Systems Engineer who is a versatile team player, with the ability to learn new technology and process quickly.
Required Skills: OS Deployment experience; Strong process documentation, including ISO; Strong research, analysis & problem solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of Windows 7
• Knowledge of IT operations

• User State Migration
• Large Scale System Migrations
• Ability to read and write command line scripts, and shell scripts.
• Windows desktop & Server administration skills
• Solid understanding of Networking and computer Operating Systems
• Experience in PC Life Cycle management
• Systems Management technologies SCCM

Responsible for evaluating and managing new initiatives and business opportunities. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in planning, designing, and implementing business plans with information technology strategies. Works with end user groups to identify technical solutions to business problems or inefficiencies. Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs and makes recommendations. May require certification in specific applications. Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.
