Position Summary:

The Manager, Business Systems Analysis plans, designs, develops, and launches efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. The BSA’s role is to design and develop enterprise-wide applications, systems, data analysis and reporting solutions. The BSA is expected to use analytical skills and data from multiple internal and external sources and communicate their results and recommendations to the development team and to senior management. The BSA works on initiatives that span across the whole organization is also responsible for managing direct reports in regards to all technology and systems analysis, development, support, and associated business requirements.


Academic/Education Requirements:


 Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, Information Systems or related discipline.


Qualifications and Required skills/Experience:


  • 5 years of experience in IT and software/service as it relates to business system analysis and development.
  • Track record of managing and improving complex processes with highly effective organizational, managerial and problems solving skills as well as planning for not only prioritizing work activities but also anticipating shifts in priorities.
  • Provide analytical support, data, recommendations and analysis to our business stakeholders
  • Manage database and software integration while driving consistency in reporting and analysis across the company
  • Drive and maintain standards in the full life cycle of operations from Estimating to Operations to archiving to future proposals
  • Assist with ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives to assure efficient data flow, capture and reporting capability
  • Core studies and thesis include technology development as it relates to business systems, computer networks, voice networks, software and applications, architectures, and infrastructures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within, as well as outside the organization.
  • Proficiency with Software platforms include but not limited to: Microsoft enterprise products including O365 Stack, Sharepoint designer and development, SQL databases, Reporting services including SSRS, Business Intelligence tools, various website CMS platforms and development tools.




The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:


  • Collaborate and work with cross functional teams and various business units across multiple companies to assess alignment of IT capabilities with current / future business goals to ensure that the companies are not overlooking opportunities relative to our competitors and industry / technology trends;
  • Fully understand and support business and technical requirements and evaluate and use analytical skills to develop an objective review and a forward-looking IT strategy as it applies to business functionality, strategic direction, technical solutions, systems and processes;


 Strategy & Planning


  • Collaborate in the strategy, planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications;
  • Meet with direct reports and other IT team members, as well as decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues;
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions;
  • Evaluate the current technology architecture and conduct feasibility studies for technology change;
  • Prepare detailed business case documents that apply to all proposed initiatives;
  • Conducting the gap analysis and initial risk assessment for “go, no go” on projects;
  • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.


Operational Management


  • Lead all direct reports (4) in developing, maintaining and adhering to all policies, security practices and implemented segregation of duties including but not limited to: all systems development and support methods and infrastructures;
  • Responsible to manage and oversee the team responsible for the administration, maintenance, operation, support, and control of the all business systems, excluding Yardi applications, for all companies;
  • Create system design proposals, and present to senior management;
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions;
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems;
  • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers;
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support;
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems;
  • Collaborate with direct reports, resources and other team members to document and develop both design and implementation budgets as well as maintenance/support budgets.


 Methodologies & Documentation


  • Utilize various methodologies and techniques in collecting, assimilating and reporting data including brainstorming sessions, technology analysis, systems analysis, focus groups, interviews, etc.;
  • Ensure that documentation utilizes various forms including textual, matrix, diagrams, models, etc.



The Manager, Business Systems Analysis must be client focused, advocate and communicate a positive image of the company, both internally and externally.  The Manager, Business Systems Analyst shall take accountability for decisions made and conduct oneself in a respectful and ethical manner in representing the company’s interests. The Manager, Business Systems Analysis shall demonstrate entrepreneurialism and behave like an “owner” in carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities; demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness in achieving desired results.
