MS OFFICE 2010 Migration Specialist (Consultant for Office Template Remediation Bilingual English & French )
Description
Working as a part of a team, and under the technical direction of the Senior MS OFFICE Migration Lead and Project Manager, the Migration Specialist will have extensive previous experience in large MS Office 2010 Migrations. The primary function of this role is to migrate and remediate Office Plug-Ins, Word Templates, Macros and Office Code for use on the Office 2010 platform. This role is part of a project team that aligns with the vision of the organization and acts as an integral part of the Desktop Engineering team.
This role is able to self-manage remediation efforts to meet project timelines. Strong troubleshooting, testing and analytical skills are required to resolve migration incompatibilities. This role must be able to interpret requirements from the Migration Lead, remediate incompatibilities, then test and QA outputs to ensure compliance.
Skills and Characteristics:
• Direct experience supporting Office 2010 migrations
• Microsoft – Office Code Compatibility Inspector – OCCI and Office Migration Planning Manager – OMPM tools experience.
• Hands on experience with Office 2010, features and pug in/add in functionality
• Must be able to remediate Office Plug ins/Add-ins
• Extensive experience with Office 2010 and manipulation and remediation of templates from Office 2003 to 2010
• Ability to follow a workflow process for QA and User Acceptance testing
• Experience with tracking tools
• Must be able to read and write in English
• Ability to work in a team environment and to take direction
Responsible for evaluating and managing new initiatives and business opportunities. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Works with end user groups to identify technical solutions to business problems or inefficiencies. Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs and makes recommendations. May require certification in specific applications. Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.
